TROPICAL WASTE W/ ZORA JONES, DJ FIRMEZA, GOD COLONY + TRULUVCRU, COVCO, IYDES B2B SEB
Celebrating two years of parties!
TW012: celebrating two years of Tropical Waste parties with special guests from Barcelona, Lisbon and London.
ZORA JONES (FRACTAL FANTASY ~ UK DEBUT)
After dropping collabs with Teklife’s DJ Taye and Heavee as well as incendiary debut EP ‘100 Ladies’, the low-end technician flies in from Barcelona to make her long-awaited UK debut. A gifted artist (check her A/V work for Fractal Fantasy, the project she helms with Sinjin Hawke) and superlative DJ, Zora will definitely do the damn thing down in the basement.
DJ FIRMEZA (PRINCIPE)
DJ Firmeza specialises in the Afro-Portuguese club music that’s brewed in the housing projects of Lisbon. It’s raw and vibrant and, alongside peers like DJ Marfox, DJ Nigga Fox and Nidia Minaj, he’s taking it to the world. Firmeza is responsible for two scorching releases on Principe – as part of the PDDG crew and his break out debut ‘Alma Do Meu Pai’ last year – and is an expert DJ who skillfully blends the wild rhythms that are his signature. Expect a masterclass.
GOD COLONY + TRULUVCRU (DEBUT PERFORMANCE)
London production duo God Colony emerge from the shadows to play their very first show. They link with TruLuvCru, the Bermondsey MC collective that counts Flohio, Cassive and Stefon among its number. Of course, God Colony’s collab with Flohio, ‘Steady’, has been getting hammered on radio so you already know the levels this will bring.
Covco’s a recent addition to the NTS roster and she uses her monthly broadcast to unleash a deadly selection of footwork, grime, rap, r’n’b and club. Her taste in music is next level and we can’t wait to hear what she’s got planned for the basement.
IYDES B2B SEB (INFINITE MACHINE / NTS)
Tropical Waste residents bring visceral bump ‘n grind. Don’t forget to cop Iydes’ new self-titled EP on Infinite Machine!
